Dr. Kerry Schindler named Hill College’s new vice president of instruction

Dr. Kerry Schindler has been appointed Hill College’s new vice president of instruction. 

Prior to coming to Hill College, he served as Vice President for the Erath County Center of Ranger College eventually becoming the Senior Vice President of Instruction for the entire district. “I have enjoyed many opportunities to collaborate with various stakeholders across the region and the state,” says Dr. Schindler, “Community colleges are an integral component for providing multiple pathways for student success, building healthier communities, and advancing a growing Texas economy.”

After graduating high school in Bandera, Texas, Schindler attended Tarleton State University (TSU) on a baseball scholarship. In 2004, he graduated from TSU and began his teaching and coaching career at local school districts while working on his master’s degree in education administration. Upon completion of his degree he took his first position in administration as a campus-level administrator at Lorena Middle School, south of Waco. Shortly after, he began working on his doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies at TSU and accepted a position as a Doctoral Fellow funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to establish the American Clearinghouse on Educational Facilities concentrating on research of educational facilities. In 2012, Dr. Schindler completed his degree and was introduced to community colleges. He was hired by Ranger College to establish an off-site center in Stephenville, Texas.

Dr. Schindler stays active with his son, Ethan, and is involved in recreational and youth sports as a coach and spectator.
